Loan options

Order or reservation can be placed after login as a: registered user, pre-registered user, remotely registered user All loans are for on-site study until a library card is issued.

Registered users can:

• order an available document for study in one of the reading rooms or for off-site loan
• reserve a document that is currently on loan to another user

In certain cases, documents can only be ordered via the service. The delivery time depends on the type of document ordered and the location of the document.

Physical documents are available in the NL CR for:

• on-site loans - i.e. only for study in the selected reading room
• off-site loans - i.e. for borrowing at home

Some documents are freely available on site and cannot be ordered via the online catalogue. These documents are

• open shelves in the Main Hall
• the reference collections in the individual reading rooms

Journals and newspapers available in the Periodicals Reading Room can be ordered:

• at the service desk in the Periodicals Reading Room
• by e-mail, by telephone, in person (in the case of legal deposits)
